It must be noted should the staff find this extra system is being abused it shall be removed promptly and members shall once again be reduced to leveling their characters up through post count alone!
Members can created special threads inside of the Mach Battles Board. To answer any questions ahead of time, yes, players do gain posts and exp while posting in this board.
Players may choose to increase a single stat or a group of stats per thread. In order to determine how many points a player is given is derived from the word count per post. However not all words count towards the total for increasing a stat. For example, a player might create a 2000 word post; only the words which pretain to the actual training or training battle count towards the total required for gaining the stats. Words which are thought process and words spoken which have nothing relevant to the training are not counted either.
In other words, should a character spend half the length of the post limenting upon the weather this shall not count towards the words required for the training. In short, anything which does not pretain to physical actions taken by a character, lines or thought process relating to battle, is considered useless fluff and shall not be added in the total.
Depending upon how many points a player is trying to gain equals the amount of words required. The higher number of points desired the higher number of words required.
1 point = 100 words 10 points= 1,000 20 points = 2000 words 40 points = 4000 words 50 points = 5,000 words 100 points = 10,000 words
All points earned can be distributed to any of the areas of a character the player desires.
Please note, stats gained during a training thread cannot be added to the character until the thread is completed!
Players are allowed to have a max of three training threads occurring at once. Should one thread be completed before another thread, stats gained from the previous thread(s) cannot be added to the character's stats in the secondary thread if the official training has already begun! If intro posts, in other words the fluff which does not count towards the words required for leveling up, is all which has been occurring in the thread, the stats may be added before the actual training begins! If the battle has already begun players cannot suddenly increase their stats in the middle of the thread.
Should any such instances occur, the person guilty shall receive a warning and be forced to return their stats to their previous rank. Should a second offense occur the character in use shall loose all stats gained from the previous training thread!
Points shall only be given to the character(s) who are involved in the training thread! Meaning, a player may not use one character to gain stats and then use these earned stats on another character.
The word counter at the bottom of the posting area is meant to help players keep track of how long their posts are while training. Albeit there is one problem with this. The counter also includes CODE as words to be counted! Codes are classified as fluff. This being so it is highly encouraged members type up their posts FIRST, write down the number of words, then go back and add in any coding they desire. It might prove easier to simply avoid code completely in training threads.
Should a player have more words than is required to reach a level, these extra words roll over and begin counting towards the requirement to gain another level!
